Do I Need A Will?
A Will (Last Will and Testament) is an essential planning tool. It will allow you to leave your property to the people who you chose, in the amounts and percentages that you chose. You can also select your personal representative (your Executor) in your Will. This person will be in charge of settling your estate after your death. Contact one of our attorneys to make sure your will is what you want and is in proper form and is signed with the necessary formalities. We will assist you and your family with this important task, and always provide our services with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity, at a very reasonable cost.

What About Powers of Attorney?
Our attorneys can draft a power of attorney for you or your family member that will allow a person of your choice to sign legal or financial documents on your behalf. The Power of Attorney document will expire when the “Principal” dies, but will survive and can be used effectively during the Principals lifetime, even if the person becomes disabled.

Health Care Proxies
If you have a family member, such as a spouse or adult child, whom you trust implicitly, a HCP can be a critically important document to have on hand.  It can guide medical care decision making when a party is dying or unable to communicate his or her wishes to his or her medical providers.

Medicaid Planning and Elder Law
In order to preserve assets for your family after your death, sometimes it is advisable to make transfers during your lifetime. If you decide to transfer your house to family members, for example, we can “reserve” a “life estate” which would guarantee your right to stay in your house for the rest of your life—and still keep the benefits such as your school tax reductions.
